Are you looking for trendy Instagram poses to spruce up your Insta game? If so, you’re at the right place.

Did you know that Instagram has over one billion monthly active users? Making it one of the most popular social media apps. Nonetheless, getting an impressive number of likes and followers can be baffling on Instagram.

If you’re struggling to get the perfect Instagram-worthy photos, remember – there are no bad photos, but poses. In this article, I’ll share 10 trendy Instagram photo poses.

#1 Put your best foot forward

One of the most versatile yet trendy Instagram poses I personally love.

Putting your best foot forward is the classic photography pose that never goes out of style. There is a reason I admire this pose so much, and it works pretty well for most Instagram pictures.

When you put your best foot forward, you shift most of your body weight to your back foot. This allows your other foot to be the “posing prop.” Also, it’s up to you how you play around with your dominant foot. For example, you can cross one leg behind the other.

Pro Instagram poses tip: To achieve that taller, flattering look, I suggest standing on your tippy toes. It visually elongates your legs, making you look taller and adding a little movement to your body.

#2 The charm of your arms

If you position your hands vertically or horizontally in your pictures, STOP!

Instead of letting your arms hang limply at your sides, keep them on a 45-degree angle, tilted off the vertical axis. It keeps your one hand busy in the photo and adds the much-needed dimensions to the photo.

Pro Instagram poses tip: Use your arms around the torso’s lace-work. This creates an open silhouette, giving you the true feeling of freedom. When you keep your arms glued to the sides, it gives makes you look bulgy with a heavy waistline.

#3 The teapot Instagram pose

The teapot pose is Instagram’s favorite, and rightfully so. It slims your waist and flaunts your curves in the most dignified manner.

Here’s how you can strike the teapot pose for your Instagram photos.

  1. Perch one arm on your hip.
  2. Shift your body weight to one side, while relaxing your shoulders.
  3. Show off any fancy accessories you’re donning by positioning your lifted arm.

And action.

#4 Tilt your head

This trendy Instagram pose is outstanding for people with asymmetrical faces.

Be sure to turn heads while tilting your head a bit and let the camera do its magic on your face angles. Also, this pose does wonder if you want to create an illusion of a slimmer, toned body.

Pro Instagram poses tip: Pose like an Instagram celebrity and turn slightly instead of facing the camera head on.

#5 Stand tall, chin up

Bring your inner confidence out and perfect your Instagram photo pose with this simple and all-time classic style.

When it comes to capturing the best photographs, two things never go wrong:

  1. Putting your best foot forward
  2. Standing up straight and putting your chin up

The fact that cameras are 2-D limits your posture as a 2-D model. So, Suppose you’re posing for a camera while looking straight into it: keep your chin up, down, or forward. This mimics the chiseled jawline associated with Instagram celebrities you love.

#6 Pop one shoulder higher

I detest myself in pictures with flat shoulders. And so, this advice is coming from a personal experience that works 100%.

In recent times, positioning your shoulders might come as a trivial photography detail, but it adds to your overall look.

If you want to highlight or pop your face in front of the world, do this:

  1. Roll your shoulders back to accentuate your upper body, creating a slimmer look.
  2. Pop one shoulder up higher to create a natural dimension in the photo. (This is one of my go-to Instagram poses that’s both – chic and simple)

#7 Mess around your hair

If you’re blessed with naturally long hair, this Instagram pose was tailor-made for you.

  1. With your low shoulder, make the hair flow freely.
  2. Tilt your head towards the higher shoulder. It gives you a classic feminine look.

But remember — Don’t keep the line going down the middle of your face aligned with the breastbone. Also, never turn your head towards the low shoulder, making you look broader.

#8 Be seated

Sitting on the edge of a stool or chair is the new “Instagram cool.” But remember to be seated on the edge of the stool to avoid emphasizing your hips, creating a bulkier look.

To achieve the perfect “sit like a boss Instagram pose”, I suggest sitting tall, confident, and raising your seat a little higher from the ground. Elevating your seat allows the line between your hips and knees to be diagonal, adding the right dimension to your photo.

If you plan to cross your legs, make sure the hanging foot is not out front.

#9 Instagram baddie poses

Be the ultimate diva with one of the boldest, swanky, and trendiest Instagram poses.

When I look at the baddie pose, I imagine no one but Kylie Jenner flaunting her beautiful curves with an edgy look.

All you need to do is squat. Ideally, you should:

  1. Lean on one (dominant) leg
  2. Stretch the other leg out to create a balanced Instagram pose, making you look slim and sassy.

#10 The dress twirl

Nothing beats the legacy of a flowy, floral dress with some movement. The dress twirl is a classic time pose that always works like a charm.

To achieve the perfect Instagram shot:

  1. Create movement in your dress by flicking it away from the body
  2. Keep your hands busy. For example, touch your face or lift your hand above your dress
  3. Keep your camera lower and aim for a lower angle
  4. Twirl.

Pro Instagram poses tip: Keep your arms and hands away from your dress to create the perfect movement for your Instagram feed.
