What You’ll Need

DIY - Photo Garlands
You won’t need much equipment at all – you’ll probably already have most of it in your craft box at home. Along with your favorite color of sturdy card, you’ll need your photos, some pretty string and, of course, scissors and glue. For attaching it to the thread, I would recommend using a hole punch.

You should have your colored card in front of you, perfect. Grab a pencil and draw a shape of your choice. I find the pennant shape to be very stylish, transfer this to the paper 6 times. Then cut along your carefully sketched outline.

Now you just need to hang it up. It’s so easy! Using the hole punch (I’ve always got one with me) makes it really quick and easy to hang up. Make sure that you punch it centrally, otherwise your DIY will go completely wrong.

Perfectly Threaded

To make a stylish photo garland out of your pictures, the individual parts still need to be connected. You then thread the string through the holes one by one. Try to keep the gap between the pieces of card equally spaced. Leave a slightly longer piece of string at the ends, so that you can attach the photo garland to the wall later on.

The Best Is Saved For Last

Now all you need to do is personalize the garland with your favorite photos. At MyPostcard you can print your pictures quickly and simply, and then glue them to the cards. If the paper is too light and thin for the photos, then glue two pieces of card together.

Are you a perfectionist? Then measure the exact position of the photos on the card. I like doing it using my own sense of proportion, therefore I position my pictures roughly. It’s also quicker ?

It’s that quick to brighten up your living room wall, make a party location even more colorful or personalize a front door welcome sign. You can find more ideas here.

Do you have a great DIY idea and want me to give a tutorial for it? I’m always here with creative input, as crafting things together is the most fun way!

Greetings from the MyPostcard craft room,
Greta
