Keep reading to find out everything you need to know about the postcard app that is changing how we send postcards and greetings card to each other.

So… how does it work? Creating a postcard or greeting card with the postcard app is a simple and clear process. It’s designed so that anyone with a smartphone can use the app on the go. Let’s go through the different steps of this postcard app.

Postcard App Step 1
Which Products?

The first step is to choose whether you want a greeting card or a postcard. Greeting cards can be used for Birthday cards, Christmas cards, Valentine’s cards, Anniversary cards and much more.

Postcard App Step 2
Choose the Style

The second part is the style. There is a variety of “styles” to choose from. You can choose from styles that allow you to add several pictures to one with a single image in the center.

These include the following style options:

  • Classic
  • Trio
  • Instant
  • Multi
  • Instant
  • Modern
  • Quattro
  • Twister
  • Skyscraper
  • Panorama
  • Landscape

With so many great style ideas to choose from, this all comes down to personal preference. You have to consider what the receiver would like.

Postcard App Step 3
Add Photos

The next step is select a photo from your photo album to add to the postcard. If you’re on vacation, it’s great to give your friends an insight into where you’re staying or what you’ve visited.

You can also take a new photo in the app of where you are at the moment. You can then edit and crop your photo until it’s exactly how you want it.

Postcard App Step 4
Include a Personalized Message

After this, it’s time to add a personalized message and the address of the receiver. At the click of a button, you can just add the address from your contacts. This saves you having to make sure you write in clear handwriting.

You can include up to 800 characters in your text. This is usually plenty to get your message across. You can tell everyone about the wonderful places you’ve visited, the exciting taste of the food you’ve experienced, and the interesting people you’ve met.

Or, if it’s a greeting card, you can just about fit in a birthday message or season greetings.

Postcard App Step 5
The Preview

Now that you’re settled on the design, you’ve added the photos and you’ve written the message, it’s time for the preview. This way you can see how it will look to the receiver on your smartphone. So the preview offers you the last chance to make sure that you’re happy with the postcard.

It’s also possible at this stage to save the postcard as a draft; this way you can send it later. This is especially useful if you’re in an area with poor connection and you want to wait until you get onto Wi-Fi.

Then, the final part is clicking “send”. And that’s it – MyPostcard will do the rest.

In a few moments, your postcard will be in the pipeline to be in the post within 24 hours of your order. You can be sure that your friends and family will be delighted to receive your postcard.

Postcard App Step 6
The final Postcard look like…

The postcards are produced in the 4.1×5.8 international standard format for postcards and are printed on a 300 g thick card. The minimum photo resolution is 1 MP, while the maximum is 10 Mb.

How Much Does it Cost?

Now you might be thinking, this sounds great – but how much does it cost? While the app is totally free to download, you have to pay to send postcards. However, the cost is a surprisingly good value.

In fact, you can get one of the basic postcards for as little $2.29 each – that includes adding a picture too. While the greeting cards versions are a little more expensive, at $3.99 each.

There are also opportunities to send as many as 15 photos for the cost of $10.99. Even in the modern age, you can’t beat a physical photograph to stick on your fridge or in a photo album.

Also, you can pay via PayPal or with your credit card. After the preview, you’ll be shown the cost of the service and the postage cost in the check-out. Of course, the cost of the postage depends on the destination.

However, it’s usually very reasonable. Especially when you consider that you don’t need to buy a pen, a postcard or a stamp. That’s a lot of time and effort saved.

MyPostcard states: “No matter where you are in the world or where your postcard is to be sent – we’ll mail your postcard for you anywhere in the world” – That’s quite a promise!

Hiya, I’m Maud. I’m an English girl who's moved to Berlin - because who wouldn’t fall in love with a country which has words like ‘Kummerspeck’ hidden around every corner... I love traveling and finding out the quirks of each country - and what better way to remember them than on a postcard?

  1. I’m trying to use the app right now. The preview wouldn’t work. Earlier I bought credits. I’m trying to pay with my credits and it’s been processing for minutes now. That’s not normal and it probably isn’t working. I’m stuck with credits that I can’t use. Ugh

      Hello Gerald,
Thanks for your question! Our postcards are printed in Australia, the USA, Germany and Guernsey, where they are picked up by the respective country’s postal service before being posted worldwide. Hope this helps! Maud 🙂
